Nigerian govt lifts ban on interstate travel, approves school opening for final year students


The federal government has approved what it called “safe reopening” of schools nationwide in the next phase of the gradual easing of lockdown ordered to curtail further spread of COVID-19.

The government also lifted the ban on non-essential interstate travels.

Such interstate travels can now be done outside curfew hours with effect from July 1 2020.

The Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, disclosed this at the daily briefing of the task force in Abuja on Monday.

He said the reopening of schools was meant to allow students in graduating classes resume preparation for examinations.

“The government also said only graduating students will resume,” he said.

Mr Mustapha said the second phase of the gradual easing of the lockdown in the country has also been extended by four weeks.

“The Phase Two of the eased lockdown be extended by another four weeks with effect from Tuesday, June 30, 2020, through Midnight of Monday, July 27 2020,” he said

Nigeria imposed its first round of lockdown in late March. Mr Buhari on April 27 announced the gradual easing of a five-week lockdown in FCT, Lagos and Ogun state.

The lockdown was eased to a nationwide night curfew (8 p.m. to 6 a.m.) from May 4 to May 17.

Many states, however, amended the curfew time, largely to commence from 10 p.m. and end at 5 a.m.

The first phase of the relaxed lockdown was extended by two weeks and elapsed midnight June 1. The second phase spanned June 2 and elapses by midnight today, June 29.

Somadina has congratulated his ex-fiancee, Regina Daniels on the birth of her child and her subsequent announcement that she will be sharing a documentary about her married life.

Staying Lowkey ? Mompha Deletes All Instagram Posts (Screenshot)


Popular Nigerian Big man and bureau de changer, Ismaila Mustapha otherwise known as Mompha, has raised eyebrows after he recently deleted( or archived) all his posts on Instagram.
Mompha is renowned for his for his conspicuous display of wealth on his social media account and this continued after his infamous arrest by the EFCC. However, a recent check on his intagram page shows that all posts-bar-one are nowhere to be found.

Some social media users are insinuating that Mompha’s unexpected action was motivated by the fear of the FBI.
This however isn’t the first time Mompha will delete all his posts, he did the same when he was released by the EFCC on bail of 100m Naira.

Setien on LaLiga leadership: We just need to win


Barcelona coach, Quique Setien, is happy to be top of the table after their 1-0 defeat of Athletic Bilbao.

The victory takes the Catalan club three points clear of Real Madrid at the top of the table, with Zinedine Zidane’s side facing Real Mallorca on Wednesday.

“We needed to win, like every other game,” Setien said.

“It’s clear that, the fewer mistakes you make in this sense, the better.

“This means that we have three points and we have to wait to see what our direct rival does.”

Barcelona have played first in the title race each round since LaLiga Santander returned, but the scheduling is about to change.

Setien doesn’t believe the order of the matches will affect his team too much.

“Basically, it’s doing what we’re doing right now,” he said when asked about the scheduling of fixtures.

“We’re not worried about what our rival is doing, but about what we’re doing.
“We’ve kept five clean sheets in a row, for which you have to give credit.

“We’ve taken maximum points from every game except one.

“There are things to improve, but we’re on the right track.”

Days ago, Nigerian musician, David Adeleke who is widely known as Davido shocked the world as he unfollowed everyone on his Instagram handle.

Well, it seems his fellow musicians are also paying him back has some of them have replied in him in the same fold.

Olamide, Wizkid and Naira Marley have subsequently unfollowed him on Instagram.
A check on their accounts showed that indeed they are no more following Davido on Instagram like they use to do.

Burna Boy, Nigeria’s Afrufusion singer, has yet again been nominated for the ‘Best International Act’ plaque of the 2020 BET Awards after winning the category in 2019.

Organizers of the event, which celebrates African Americans and other minorities in music, acting, sports, and other fields of entertainment over the past year, announced its nominees on Monday.

Alongside the Grammy-nominated star, Rema, a Mavin Records-signed artiste, was put up for the ‘Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act’, just about a year after he hit the limelight.

Among others who are also up for BET’s 2020 edition is Drake, who topped with six categories; Megan Thee Stallion and Roddy Ricch, two first-timers who tied with five nominations each.

Transfer: Chelsea finally sign Timo Werner from RB Leipzig


Chelsea has finally agreed on a deal with RB Leipzig to sign striker, Timo Werner.
The Blues confirmed this in a statement via its official website on Thursday.
The statement reads: “Timo Werner has agreed personal terms with the Blues, and will remain at the German club for the rest of the Bundesliga season.
“He will link up with his new team-mates in July, subject to passing a medical examination.”
Werner has one of the most feared young strikers in Europe.
The 24-year-old is renowned for his pace, movement, link-up play and finishing ability.
He scored 32 goals and registered 13 assists in 43 appearances in all competitions for Leipzig.

Adekunle Gold and Falz banter on social media with throwback photos of each other


In recent times, the social media space has been filled with a lot of negative news and it is only expected that people would want to take a break from it and see positive content.

Just recently, two of the top music stars in the country, Adekunle Gold and Falz, got Nigerians buzzing after they shared photos from each other’s humble beginnings.

It is not clear who started the battle of the throwbacks but it sure kept Nigerians entertained.

The two singers threw shots at each other by sharing unbelievable photos from their pasts and fans could not help but be amazed at their transformation. Many even expressed disbelief that the people in the photos were the celebrities.

Others also saw it as a motivation that people’s story and lifestyle can transform no matter where they come from.

Simi Finally Opens Up On Why She Married Adeleke Gold And Not Falz


The Nigerian female singer Simisola just known as Simi has finally opened up to address the reason why she didn’t marry Falz but chose her husband Adeleke Gold.

Opening up on her marriage with Adeleke Gold, Simi recounted how she met her husband on Facebook where they used to chat until they finally met in person at a show she headlined in Lagos. She shockingly disclosed that she never knew her husband was a musician like herself when they first met. She stated that, they continued their friendship until it went into dating and finally marriage.
“He was chasing me all over facebook When I was still doing gospel music he used to listen to my songs. He sent me a message on Facebook and that was how we met. I didn’t know him at the time. I didn’t respond either. The first time I ever saw him was at a show at Bogobiri, he told me that he was going to be there and I said ‘sure’. He came and that was how we met. Over the years we were friends at first. When I first met him I just knew him as the king of Photoshop, I didn’t know he was also a musician”, she said.
Simi added that some of her fans wanted her to marry Falz instead of her husband Adekunle Gold.
“People thinking it was Falz I would have gotten married to was funny. I still get comments from people in my DM that they wish it was Falz I got married to”, she said.
Highlighting on the feeling of being married, she said…..
“Now you’re part of a different family, I’m talking extended family now; so you have to be very conscious. You know your boyfriend’s mom is different from your husband’s mom, she’s now like your mom.

Why Davido Just Unfollowed Chioma On Instagram


Davido has subtly confirmed that all is not well with him and the mother of his only son, David Ifeanyi Adeleke Jnr- Chioma Avril Rowland. 


Barely 24-hours ago, Chioma published a lengthy disclaimer on Instagram whereby she debunked all the fake stories which have been propagated by the tabloids and blogs against her and Davido.

But our checks on Instagram just revealed that Davido has unfollowed his ‘Assurance’ sparking rumours or perhaps confirming that Davido and Chioma’s world are crumbling apart. 

Perhaps Chioma is part of the cleansing Davido talked about a few days ago when he announced that he needed time for himself only and wanted to cut some people off his life after serving their interest all the time at his own expense.
